Kelly and Liam Syme are the newlywed couple who have become the first residents of the new town of Chapelton.  Both work in the oil and gas industry, and they were married last year at Drumtochty Castle, Laurencekirk. Twelve of the town's workmen formed a guard of honour - replacing swords with spades - to welcome them.

Liam said "We feel extremely privileged to have been given such a warm reception into Chapelton and our new home. This is a very exciting day for us and the celebrations have made it really special. Chapelton offers us a bright future and with this being our first time buying a new build property we have been delighted with the process. We can't wait to start our lives together in a community that is only just starting out itself."

The website says Chapelton will be a brind new community adapting the best traditions of Scottish town design for modern living. From an extensive range of new homes and schools, through to a lively town centre, Chapelton promises a variety of properties suitable for all ages, incomes and needs. The town plan has been developed by leading urban planners, architects and engineers, and is led by Elsick Development Company (EDC). You can fine more details at www.chapeltonofelsick.com
